Warmer days and family trips are fast approaching. Pre-arranged absences are covered in the Student Handbook on page 27. Please be reminded of the following:
Pre-arranged absences are a privilege the school allows. Our primary concern is the student’s academic status and their prior absences. WORK MUST BE MADE UP PRIOR TO BEING ABSENT. Pre-arranged absences can be granted for family trips.
Failure to pre-arrange an absence will result in an unexcused absence.ImportantTherefore, with the exception of funerals, doctor appointments, and certain emergencies, notice must be made in writing FIVE (5) SCHOOL DAYS BEFORE the absence.Click here to download/print the 2011-2012 Pre-arranged Absence Form.

The consideration of applications for National Honor Society is a large undertaking that is now nearing a close. All parents of those students who have applied will receive notification of selection or non-selection the week of November 14th. This way students who have been selected for membership will be able to make arrangements for their families to attend the induction mass on November 23.

- Seminarian Fundraiser Dinner at the Spalding Pastoral Center

The parents of priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Peoria will host a Seminarian Fundraiser on Saturday, August 13th, at the Spalding Pastoral Center in Peoria. Doors open at 5:30 with dinner at 6:30. There will be dinner, entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. Money raised goes to help defray the education costs to the families in our diocese who currently have seminarians enrolled at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minnesota. This includes Clint Coulter, STM graduate Class of 10; he is currently enrolled at this seminary, along with other young men from our diocese; including Mike Pica, graduate of Holy Cross School. Tickets for the event are available through St. Thomas Church/Philo (684-5107). If you are unable to attend, you can still send a monetary donation for the seminarians to: POPS Seminarian Fundraiser, St. Thomas Church, 310 E. Madison, Philo, IL 61864. Checks made payable to Catholic Diocese of Peoria.
